Tiercel 6,986
It really is a bad year. I like to start off in peat pots but even they have been damping off before they get thier true leaves. Slugs have eaten most of what I have sown. The only thing that has thrived is my swedes. A bit of sun and the cabbage root fly will have those I expect. I have tried a new type of runner bean this year it is supposed to be self pollinating. They have just started flowering so we will see, they are called moonlight and firestorm has anyone tried them? skycat 6,174
Can't complain: early tates did well. Got loads of broad beans and peas. Parsnips and spinach beet like a jungle Raspberries best ever: yum! Runners a bit behind. Spring onions great. Red onions struggling with shallow roots due to all the wet. Rhubarb like a bloody triffid Lettuce has gone mad. Parsley and basil doing well. Never bothered with toms or sweet corn this year: just as well, not enough sun. My OH said it would be the wettest summer ever: and he was right.
