jf1970 328
Whilst I agree that a properly fed BARF diet is the ultimate diet for working dogs, I don't agree with advising someone who clearly has little knowledge of raw feeding to raw feed pups. Any complete mixer is better than a badly fed raw diet IMO. I've known lads feed purely chicken mince etc and this simply doesn't equate to a good balanced diet. I am currently mixing various raw with good quality mixer and getting great results. Gaz you make feeding raw sound complicated, it's not rocket science.

jf1970 328
hi mate if you are going to feed a raw diet it's not rocket science, i feed mine as follows.... day 1= scrambled egg and brown bread toast, beef day 2= chicken mixed with minced veg, sprats and tinned tomatoes. day 3= rabbit (whole), mince day 4= minced veg + apple with any of the above meat, scrambled egg day 5= liver, fish day 6= beef heart, rabbit day 7=chicken, mince mixed with minced veg i don't necessarily do it in that order, but it gives you a rough idea of whats needed, and i don't use any supplements or add any oil ect.

Of course it's not rocket science but all too often I see lads on here saying "chicken mince and tripe" and that's all they feed or "butchers waste" and they news much more than just this. As you show in your example diet above. A lot of people don't have the time for mincing veggies and preparing proper raw diets. And in my opinion if you can't do it propely then your better to at least supplement with complete. Gaz
