gnasher16 30,424
Gnash, is a sport not any physical game/event that is competitive? For me, it's the non purist events that are often the most interesting to watch. Is a skipping rope race a sport ? its physical and competetive......................not for me. I dont doubt white water rafting or archery or equestrian dressage whatever its called....are all a whole lot of fun and interesting to watch.............but for me those type of things are interests/hobbies..................not sports. Ive been competing on and off in arm wrestling for years now,it requires a whole bunch of physical and mental qualities and skills but i accept its not a sport, hence i cant accept something like archery or dressage IS a sport......................only my opinion like im not saying im right. I understand that Gnasher, you're just taking a very traditional/purist view of it. But here's something to ponder on if you're much of a thinker; what is your definition of a sport? gnasher16 30,424
Tomo that was an ArmWars event in London the bloke your on about was Devon Larrat....he is a loudmouth but he,s an unbelievable puller........ I got into it by chance i was in America about 15 years ago and just out of interest went to a little conference the then world champion John Brzenk was there taking on any and everyone after a competition......i didnt have a clue what i was doing but i beat him first pull i was as shocked as he was.......he then took it a bit more serious and beat me 7 straight pulls in a row ....but its what first got me interested.....its not so much about muscle strength as tendon ( holding ) strength and for that reason you do see some nasty injuries....i myself have had a tendon ripped off the bone.....no breaks fortunately.......I followed that John Brzenks career ever since the mid 90,s its only now recently that people are starting to beat him after 25 years at the top !......and he only weighs 210 lb......one of the most impressive athletes ive ever seen and looks like a complete goofball !! PeakOil 352
I hope it all go's well...but i can't help but think bombs are gonna be going off..like they did the day after we found out we won them..hope not but them muzzys are not gonna miss out on this chance There is no need to set bombs off to cause complete carnage. A dozen or so folk on coaches heading to London with electronic cigs on board should suffice.
