What age can ferret kits be sold ?

have 6 ferret kits wondering what age they can be taken away from the mother at ?

i usally take the jill away from the kits at 6 weeks old to give her a break from them then i let the kits go to there new homes around 7 or 8 weeks

Normaly take any kitts to there new homes at a minimum of 8 weeks sometimes 10 weeks never any earlier than 8 i have heard of people letting there kitts go at 6 weeks this is far to early to be taken away in my oppinion

8 weeks minimum.

I keep them for around 10 weeks, I remove the mother at around 6/7 weeks or so.

 

Only bred 3 litters in 24 years mind. lol.

i have to say i hate this new idea of taking kits early,, and i dont like taking the mothers away certainly not as early as 6 week,,,, unless there is a good reason,, im not saying the kits wont survive,, cos of course they will...

 

i still have a jill in with her 11 kits ,, they are 10 week old ,,, there not puppies,,,
