I would check before agreeing to any op! A vesectomy shouldn't need any kind of implants? Has she confused it with castration? Quite often vets do!

No there swinging away from vasectomy's and offering implants instead i remember reading about it last week need to see if i can dig it out

Cheers lads just phoned back said they would do the vasectomy pound for op then 20 pound for anaesthetic . No need to dig it out the one I'll just phone about and fund it cheaper will just leave it at that cheers for the replies )

I would be pretty worried about the vet mixing up the two lol

Vasectomy the nuts are still going to be there so no implants needed

castration the nuts are not there but why would you need implants anyway? its a ferret ffs. My castrated one has gone through life pretty happy wth an empty sack

The implant is meant to reduce the risk of adrenal disease. They can be quite costly and need replacing every 1.5- 2years.

Yep there is a implant around its been out for a few years now but there really trying to push for it but as stated by happyferret123 it needs replacing every 18 months/2 years i have heard of it wearing off in less still very much a learning curve on it and some ferrets have still got adreanal from having it as well and others which have had adrenal stopped in its tracks from it. I personally dont use it, i go for the fit and forget method of spay and neuter, but i dont breed mine as they generally come from rescues or i take in strays.
