Caprelous 217
After Andy Murray's speech, my tearful wife said to me, "Why cant you be more like HIM?". "What", I said. "Be more sensitive and cry? ""No", She said. "Come second".

johnny boy68 11,726
Well after Wimbledon and losing to probably the greatest player to play the game, Murray still got ripped what for..........being emotional. What he did yesterday to Federer was fully deserved Andy used the crowd and the occasion to his benefit, he's played these Olympics with a desire and will we haven't seen enough of, maybe this is the stepping stone to winning a Slam now, he's certainly good enough ! In fairness to the lad he's probably been involved in the most competitive era in Tennis, he's reached 4 Slam finals and now won an Olympic Gold medal at singles, something that Federer or Djokovic have failed to do, in fact Murray beat them both on the way to winning !! I've watched Murray and followed his carear for a long time now, the lad left home at 15 went to live in Spain to follow his dream of playing tennis, now 10 years later he's reaping the rewards, so the lad comes off as dour and grumpy, put yourself in his shoes you've just given your all, physically, mentally and at Wimbledon for Murray emotionally. Then you have to give an interview after losing in the BIGGEST tournament in tennis which happens to be your home tournament in a nation that expects too much from its sports stars imo. What Murray said about winning the Gold medal said it all to me "I'd love to win the Gold because if I win at tennis then its mostly the tennis fraternity that acknowledges it BUT winning a Gold medal everybody understands what a Gold medal means even non sports fans!" All us Brits should give Andy Murray the credit he deserves for being a Tennis player, he dosen't come across well when being interviewed SO FECKIN WHAT, the lad is a tennis player not the next UN ambassador. WELL DONE ANDY and all our athletes, your all winners in my eyes !!

He,s doing what he does best and that should be enough....................unfortunately for him he,s born into a generation that contains the greatest player to ever play the game......but from the little ive seen of Murray he,s a fantastic competitor and an athlete of the highest calibre we should all be proud of.
