Mawders 595
Very nice Darryl buddy as i said yesterday to you on the phone . Glad you see that its now better than the TX. Amazing what a bit of polishing and tinkering can do to a HW97. Si. Si I spoke to tony at sfs yesterday as I wanted a couple of rifles sorted, he said he can do it but he has a back log as one of the gunsmiths left the firm, (he has a new trainee now though) so I've had to send them else where he also said your 97k will be the last stage 2 they do for a while as he dosnt have the time personally and the trainee isn't ready to do that yet...so just thought I'd let you know your a lucky sod!!! Atvb Jamie Aye mate I've got a feeling Tony is going to lose alot of business over the next few months, I ordered a new rifle and set up from tony 2 weeks ago and heard nothing, alot of money on the line with SFS but his gunsmith walking out on him hasn't done him any favours. To hear they are now turning down work is bad news for the customer and the shop. Such a shame, the one day I place my order the gunsmith walks out! Just my luck ha ha! Well hopefully I won't be waiting much longer as I'm going mad not having an air rifle! Not since I sold my other one to fund this one. Phil Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Yeah i was with Tony 2 days ago. Dont hold anything against him and the shop lads but the amount of work that he is getting now from the YouTube clip Ive done is staggering, and I mean staggering. They also have their own generated work too which is also alot. Tony as found a new man to work in the shop with him and he starts in 2 weeks time. He apparently is a brilliant machinist and Tony as seen his work and its pretty red hot. Just so you lads know. I'm not sure who it belongs to, but there is a stage 2 tuned HW in his shop waiting pick up. He cant get in touch with the bloke to tell them as they are not answering. I'm sure as soon as Tony trains his new worker a little more, business will be as usual. A stage 2 tune consists of a lot of work and isn't a quick polish etc. This involves bits being made and fitted to the back of your action (screw fit) and Tony being the professional that he is, he wont release the rifle until its perfect. I'm putting up some footage today of what a stage 2 tune can do for your rifle, and I think you will agree once you watch it the wait is well worth it. Si. Quote Link to post
Pelletpower 203
I was sold on the quality of his work by recommendations from some of the users of this and other forums, also looked at all si'z videos about the quality of the work and decided he was the man to sort it. Unfortunately the wait for it to be done was way to long for me So I had to go else where Shame though, would have like it to be tony that fettled it.....maybe in the near future ill have another project and he can sort it. pianoman 3,587
I am not surprised to see this rifle perform this way from Marksman Darryl. Always a great pleasure to read your posts on the rifles you refurbish and turn a rough, poorly looked-after case into a superbly consistant, accurate performing rifle once more. Does anyone STILL believe a PCP makes a more accurate rifle? Top class spring rifle shooting from a great marksman with a fine rifle. Brilliant work Darryl. With the greatest of respect to you mate. Marksman 934
What I mean to say before pressing the wrong button was..... Wow.... Thanks Simon Your comment means so much more coming from "THE MARKSMAN" with a spring rifle himself... I agree with your statement mate... That's why I wanted to make the video and keep it live to show at least what I can do with a spring rifle, however the rifle is a lot more accurate than I could ever be Thanks again mate!
