I have a bitch from last year from Ian (stoaty) and I must say the temperament is a dream both in the house and in the field, all of the working assets we could want under dog and hawks ( pointing, marking, retrieving,steadiness) are present.

 

Very loyal dogs which will work their hearts out for you.

 

I wish Ian the very best of homes for these pups, the new owners I wish as pleasant and loyal a pup as I have.

Rob- it's really just how much they are. they're a fairly rare/unusual breed, and your chances of getting one docked/KC/working lines are pretty limited.

The bitch to these pups is 5 or 6 and tis is her second litter, does that sound like money making to you?

 

The man has bred a litter of VERY well bred and still relatively rare dogs and is still questioned as to why they cost so much?

 

If they are too expensive for you why bother commenting on the post? If you don't like kc registering buy a non kc reg dog?

You are right £700 for a pup is a considered purchase however if you find a breeder with these pups the average asking price will be higher. The stud dog owner has already told me that I should be charging more.

The first litter was two girls. These were due to be given away to friends for free as I wanted to promote the breed within the falconry world because they have lots of potential. I still had to pay the stud fee and incure the other costs of raising a litter. Please be so kind as to tell me how I made any money from this. It was done purely for the love of the breed.

 

This litter took lots of effort in sourcing an unrelated male as the one used previously was no longer available. The problem with a small gene pool is finding a suitable outcross is very difficult. As previously mentioned the bitch is now 6. I took the time to get to know her and her ability - 5 years.

 

Please understand that if you can offer these pups a great working home then I am more than happy to discuss the breed with you and I hope the pup would meet all your future plans.
