What tools do you like to keep with you? i.e. shovels, picks, axe

Recommended Posts

I just wondering what tools are important to you on hunts? What type of shovels and what nots? Just bored but thought it would be good for some new ideas.

I personally like the spade type shovels that are wooden handles or fiberglass, but I have both break on me now. I like a good axe too for tree roots, just a small hatchet really works good as a hammer too. I also use a take a small metal pole that I use to tie out loose dogs with, use the hatchet as a hammer put in the ground and tie off unused dogs on it. Headlamps are all I use light wise. Been using a spot light at night thoughworks good with a small smart black terrier, get in and get out : ). Before I forget a nice pair of welders gloves, cheap and last for a while but most game isn't biting through to easily, good bite will go through but no often and I keep a pair of mechanics gloves too, ain't no fun digging without them.

All tools i keep are metal, bar, spades, grafters and shovels nothing breaking there. A retractable hand saw for roots easy fits into the pocket along with a keyring torch. A good terrier is needed also.
