What a class pic mate, I like seeing stuff like this.

A great photo Liam , worthy of a frame.

The sportsmen of old would be very proud to know that there are many good folk still carrying on and fighting for the old traditional way of life.

We are putting it in a frame Neil and it is getting pride of place in the sitting room.I can remember that gun bringing home the dinner as a child(when dinners were hard to come by)it was up on two hooks in the kitchen where us as children could not reach it.My fathers name was Billy Delaney the man beside him was also Billy Delaney(no relation)They hunted for the dinner they dug foxes, but badger digging was their sport(when it was not a dirty word)I remember going on big digs when i was a child, with hard russels and hairy arsed men,and I never saw them being cruel to anything they dug.I remember showing him the old grey box when i got one as a man and he was old and not able for the digging game anymore(He was fascinated by such technology)One time he had to shoot a dog we had for years(cancer)it was like shooting one of the family it broke his heart. He would turn in his grave if he saw the shit that country people are getting now.Even when he was old he knew more at a hole than us young lads(I was forty lol)My son is now in Australia hunting pigs so it was passed on.Sorry for the ramble but he was part of what went before us,and i loved him dearly.

Liam

Great picture and story Liam,as Im sure everyone agrees.I know times were harder then, but from what I know, passed on to me from my parents & grandparents, the hardships made for closer family and friend relationships, and honor and a man's word, meant something. Not like today, when folks have no respect,or morals.Good times Liam and im glad you found that picture to remind you of them.
