Guest MOLLY
Fresh from the country larder this morning courtesy of Terra. Had a young bunnie last night (courtesy of Molly) so not going hell for leather with this one, but i thought a still warm bunnie would help with their future working? Amazed to see them latch on and spin their bodies around the break the skin. Ive never has as much fun watching and playing with any animals as i am the new babies, didn't take long for Horis the hob to forget about the rabbit and want to play. He is such a joker, always instigating the play. He looks ferocious but is very gentle mouthed, much more sociable with me than the jills Ive also noticed the albino Jill has double the thickness of coat than the Polecats, could this be due to being bred for years in the colder north and the polecats from the south or is it a trait of albinos? She's like a little polar bear. Now i must get my self sorted, stay out of the ferret run so i can get other chores done....god im gonna miss them MOLL. Quote Link to post

Guest MOLLY
excellent pics Moll, ferrets are such fun at that age they look in good health must be that natural diet all the best Pan <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ive been advised to feed as much as they will eat when growing? I work 13hr shifts so when im at work ive unfortunately had to get dried food (James Welbeloved) cos ive got very good neighbours and dont want to upset them with smelly remains and millions of fly's......im really against dried food but have no option at the mo . Every night though they usually get baby bunnies or feather (even best steak mince last week ) Once they are mature it will be barf only the same as the dogs MOLL. Quote Link to post

Rainmaker 7
Thanks Bobo but as Gnipper said, they seem to do a good enough job themselves ........ MOLL. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My ferrets must just be greedy - they don't leave a thing lol That said I did find a jaw bone last night, with a couple of teeth in it. They usually eat the lot though, bar a bit of fluff. Quote Link to post
Guest MOLLY
That was only put in last night, and they are only about 13wks old. In this warmer weather i do take the carcass away in the mornings and put a fresh one in, in the evening when its cooler. Plenty of bunnies available after all. Or are you trying to say my new babies are soft and will never make the grade as tough hardened hunters MOLL. Quote Link to post
Guest A Sick Old Man
The only thing I remove are the guts, I worry about tape worms and other little irregularities that I sometimes find among the tubes, had a liver the other day with big white blotches on  All I ever get left with are the front teeth, and sometimes the back legs. IanB 0
Supposedly there short digestive tract is not very worm friendly millet, same here never had any worms or fleas, that I've noticed anyway, but they always pick up ticks during the season... Quote Link to post
socks 32,253
chuck the lot in and leave them get on with it ... mine eat the lot guts and all and i am normally left with a skull .... i feed mine on sheeps heads sometimes and when they finish eating it they use it as their holiday home :11: :11: :11: .... as for worms the simplest method is to use kitten wormer once a year i find panacure works best ............ Guest MOLLY
Made them some entertainment today....... Little tinker has hold of the camera strap........ The worlds longest ferret Are ferrets at danger from hurting themselves falling? Ive noticed they are a bit clumsy. Was thinking about getting some large drift wood for them to climb to different levels. Does the clumsiness get better as they get older? MOLL. Quote Link to post
