Night fishing for bass!!!

Do any of you fish for bass at night with plugs or red gills off the shore?

 

Found this a very interesting read and might give it ago myself.

I'm pretty new at plugging even in day light but when i've mastered the art i'll deffo take my plugging rod with me when i go night fishing for um...

Never tried it for bass but I have caught pike at night on plugs?

Some nice fish on that link, never done it myself but it sound's great, lure fished at night for pike, but you do need to know the area well, and someone with you, just in case.

Never had much luck catching bass with lures in the daytime, never mind at night! Caught way more of them with bait at night though.

that looks like fun and dont need mountains of kit,as i would do it in summer hols,any pointers on rods an reels will get on ebay

I'm like you malt only ever caught them at night on bait, but as i've bought a new plugging rod i thought i'd give it ago might as well take my plugging rod with me now (only on the beach mind) with the price of plugs

Let me know how you get on! I bought a 10 ft spinning rod to hit the bass with a few years back, but all I've ever caught on it is mackerel and he odd pollock!

Not much help from me on that one but most plugging rods are about 8ft, 9ft not your usual beach casters of 12 and longer,... anything that will cast a minimum of 2oz probably, with a small spinning reel.

cheers i have got couple old beachcasters down in dorset,but im thinking a rucksack containing lures etc rod & reel wont take up much room for the week or 2 ayear it might get used

I certainly will Malt but like you mackerel and pollack will probably be the only fish i catch as well. (not for the lack of trying my i add)
