Guest SJM
I went on holiday to Donegal in 93 and fell in love with the place - I had an offer of somewhere to live and a job lined up, I even set up an Irish bank account and started saving ready for my trip. Then I met a bloke and as per usual men feck everything up he was supposed to come with me and we were going to move to Ireland and live happily ever after, but it never materialised. I would still love to go over there again, even just for a holiday, but too many dogs means I am tied and cant go anywhere, I often wonder how life would have panned out for me if I had moved

Guest Frank
I moved over here in april 89, way different then, then it is now, but its still quiet free and quiet in certain places. I lived in Northampton before, till then and also Essex, but found, tresspasing on land over their  , a pain, as i was allways chased off. I found, gaining permission over here far more easier. :thumbs-up: At the time, i moved over with my parents, they bought a house, but, now they have split up and have sold that houise since, my mother is back in UK, Essex and me father is in the US I now have a house and nice wife  and a lovely wee lad, but i have a feeling, i might move at some stage in my life again. What i miss about UK,, errm, i miss directness, straight to the point, as some folk over here, not all, are wishy washy and can make things confusing I would also, love to course land like the fens, most feilds around me, are a wee bit small and rough. If, you a laid back type not in a hurry, want the easy going lifestyle, without any hassel, then here might be the place for you. You have to get use to folks over here making appointments and not turning up for a day or 2. All the best and good luck with what ever you do. Frank. Ossie 11
i was supposed to be moving to ireland (on tuesday, to be precise! ) but it's not happening now, i'm moving in with my cousin a few miles away instead. it was pointed out to me that taking my lurcher & ferrets to the part of the country i was planning to move to would be rather pointless, as the poor things would be almost totally redundant... nothing for them to do.. but the country is lovely, the people are lovely, everyone is your best friend. people you don't know will say "hullo, how are ya?" as you're walking down the street. just listen very carefully to what they're saying - doesn't matter how well you think you can understand an irish accent, you'll still struggle. and saying "pardon?" every 5 minutes won't go down too well after a while. and avoid men with wonky eyes who ply you with Guinness and talk non-stop... it's some kind of religious cult-thing! so the laws & state of the country may not be to my liking, but norfolk is my home, and by god do we have some wildlife here! it's the land of milk & honey, if you don't get caught  well, it's not like you ever see any coppers round here, unless you've got duff back lights on your motor (i know they're fecked... i've not had money to fix them... please stop pulling me over every friday night on my way home from work! )
