alfhucker 4
If you intend to put small jills Ive know them the get there heads stuck in the mesh in the pets at home hutches. Also to be totally safe mesh the bottom or board it as it a faitly lightweight and not impossable to get knocked over and lose the ferts. ATB Cookie This is true I have the same hutch and my first Jill was only in 5mins before she was back out running round the yard Also defo put something on the bottom some ply will do I used Lino as well so easy clean ,,,, Quote Link to post
happyferret123 13
a litter tray as if they will use it it makes it easier to clean out. And though that's great as a first hutch as they get older they will need more space and you could make a run and join the two up with a giant tube. better locks just to make sure no one tries to nick them. I've got a hasp lock of my lifting roof as it would be quite easy and quick to nip in and grab them. Those doors on the run section aren't very secure, I bought a massive pack of cable ties really cheap and secured the corners so it can't open- my hob pressed his head against the corner and made a hole big enough to get out of. Already had idea about makeing it bigger may add another level or two underneath. Will see how it goes ! Quote Link to post
Deano71 4
It's easier to clean out with a old sheet or a £1 fleece from primark. As someone said before litter tray makes it easier still. Don't get the corner one they don't like them. Just a cheep one from p@h and the cat litter made from paper last a good while and save soo much time. If you do get a tray you will prob need to tie it in to position as kits love to move stuff out there way. Good luck mate Quote Link to post
