Hope its ok mate,,, a mate of mine has had his dogs tail off and its about 4" left on it and it runs and works fine...all i'd say you need to do is get the dog out running about when its better and it will sharp get used to it!

My lurched got hit by a car yesterday rushed him straight to the vets and they have amputated half of his tail anyone had a lurcher that has lost some their tail ? And did affect they're running ?

It definately won't affect its running ability,is that all the injuries he got?

If so he's a lucky dog  Could have been alot worse.

Been back to the vets today and the dressing staying its healing really well stitches should dissolve within a week or so and he can start running in a few weeks my vet is quite a well known lurcherman vet and he said you won't have no problem getting him back running so everything's looking up
