crap ferrets hole hop shrink at the entrances , and if im on big burrows you need your ferrets to go deep and move the rabbits i do rabbit control im no out to exercise them . By going out and doing a bit and having good working ferrets ive had farmers next door to where we are working asking to get there ground done . a good working ferret means the difference between a good bag of rabbits and rabbits still in a dead end in a burrow

my jill had a litter of 11 last summer and i gave the lot away apart from 1 which i kept the most iv paid for a ferret was £10 no way i would pay them daft prices atb

A good ferret that can find rabbits in deep sets and give stubburn ones enough stick to shift them is as important as a good marking. No use having a great dog if your ferrets cant find them. Nice to handle, no chittering and dancing at hole mouths and also dog friendly is a must. I have had 3 ferrets in my lifetime that i would call top class and a lot of decent ones but not top class, also the odd one that was up to it. In my opinion there are a hell of a lot more poor ferrets about than good ones. Every now and then you get a cracking worker, most will work in a fashion just depends what you are happy with i suppose. As for prices i think £10 is more than enough although personally i have never sold one i prefer to gift them to good working homes.

All mine ferrets ive bought for £5 - £10 and others have just been strays that nobody as claimed.

 

At those prices its shocking! But then people complain when rescues ask for £30 -£40 donation

when the ferrets been neutered and chipped etc.

 

Its no wonder rescues are full as people will be prepared to pay that price as its a kit and named a fancy colour.

Anyone looking for black eyed white just go to rescue... They have shed loads. Also sandys. Yes the charge £40 but I doubt a lot of you could get a ferret neutered for much less
