Possible Air gun section Badge

Recommended Posts

Phantom. Please don't, and I am sure you don't, take my comments seriously. :)

As far as I am concerned each to their own, and good luck and well done for whatever yours are for.

I have always liked to be discreet where firearms are concerned, and I don't like anyone to even know I shoot, apart from those I choose.

Different ideals and incentives though.

All the best.

:) :)

We've had enough banter between us, to know what is banter and whats not :thumbs:

And I didn't think you were being too serious ;)

Your Right there Roger you southerner's can have "Shandy Drinking Noodle Arms Jessie's" as Your Chapter :tongue2:

hi ideation all you have to do is turn up at the meet and i will stick one on you

I really like the idea of a T.H.L. HFT badge we can show on caps/hoodies/gunslips etc but, after a lot of studying the proposed design I honestly do not believe it wise to use the rabbit motif.   1

What do you have to do to earn it? And do you have to sew it onto your sleeve, or is it peel and stick?

It''ll go well along side, the cooking, and helping the elderly badges.

Not a good idea because i think it may lead to embarassment and member lying. Who in their right mind would really own up to coming from places like, the valleys of South Wales or Swindon or even own up to being a Geordie.

We in the South are so lucky.

I really like the idea of a T.H.L. HFT badge we can show on caps/hoodies/gunslips etc but, after a lot of studying the proposed design I honestly do not believe it wise to use the rabbit motif.

1.It doesn't convey a formal respectability.

2.It conveys a negative, pirate-like image overall that is not about HFT.

3.It makes light of killing wild animals. Even if they are pests.

4.It looks deliberately provoking to the anti-hunting/shooting lobby who will see it as fuel to their assumptions that we revel in bloodsports.

Why not have a pellet motif with two rifles crossed, one springer, one PCP behind it.??

1. The pellet conveys and promotes precision shooting of the projectile.

2. The rifles are the means of shooting.

3. It does not suggest bloodsport.

4. Not all HFT shooters are hunters.

5. It sums up what Field Target shooting (as this honestly is) is all about. Competetive, precision shooting, Fellowship and Inclusion of all regardless of skill levels.

6. Live animals are not killed in the course of competition.

I simply put this objectively as someone who works in Art and Design for a living and I well know something of impacts on wider public tastes these things can have.

Such a proposed design as the rabbit skull may look cool to some but, I fear it will only attract the worst possible responses from the outside world.

Just my thoughts on what is a very good idea to have.
