baw 4,360
I also know a guy who slept with a 14 year old when he was 21, he met her in a club and she was drinking and looked a lot older. I'd like to think I knew where my 14 yo His name wasn't graeme Rix Here is my tuppence worth.... I've smoked solid since I was 17. Smoked grass too but not very often. Can't see the point in paying £25 for 5/6 joints but then maybe I'm just greedy lol. In my early days I would say I was a heavy smoker, once smoked a quarter in a day. Still managed to get a good education I might add and hold down a decent job. But thinking back, it did effect me. I'd climb the walls if I couldn't get it. I used to drop by a mate/dealer on the way to work, he'd leave it under a plant pot. I was about 23 at the time and sometimes he'd forget and I'd chap his bedroom window to wake him up. This day he wasn't there. Didn't think much of it, went to work raging lol. Found out that night he had been raided and I'd just missed it by 30 minutes. Gave me a fright cos I'd have lost everything if I got caught with him. Never smoked another joint for 10 years. At the time I never smoked fags just joints, so I took up smoking cos I was still addicted to the nicotine. As I say I've had the odd one in the last 6 years, mostly when with the mates fishing. The giggles and laugh it gives you is second to none. But I'm not daft enough to think it's not addictive but like everything else, you need to keep on top of it. As for the grass being stronger, definitely. I've had the odd one where I've been mildly tripping. Not so keen on it unless I've nothing to do for the rest of the night. Regarding legalizing it, I think that would be wrong. Firstly criminals would just find some other illegal activity to fill the void. And secondly, kids will always find an illegal substance to take cos it's cool. So why not leave them thinking they are cool taking what is basically a not too bad illegal activity. Legalize it and who knows what substance they will take.
alimac 882
Weed vs beer..If you asked the police, hospitals etc what causes them more work & expense, or a 1000 family's which has caused the loss of a loved one,, they will laugh in your face for even asking.. Some of you very il informed folk on this thread, would you look up the financial cost to society of alcohol has in the uk every year and then look up what weed brought financially to holland.. Now where do you think out of these 2 place has the highest crime rates?? Where do u get the highest rates of violence etc etc etc As for all this shite about it leading to other things, well that's shite too, it's down to a weak mind not because u sit down with a joint to relax ..!! I say the country would be a far far better place for a change in the law..
matthews 88 77
exactly iv never known of anybody to sit down with a j and then sniff a line or drop an e it always seems to happen when there drunk so imo drink is the gateway drug depending on the individual of course
Waz 4,262
I agree with you that have mentioned that smoking bifters can lead onto other 'harder' & more dangerous addictive drugs. The reason I think this happens is because it is illegal... the same bloke selling the pothead an 1/8 and a 1/4 is probably selling a bit of whiz a bit of charlie etc etc. So due to cannabis being illegal the 'youth' are getting exposed to a lot lot worse, which is a scary thought when you think of your own kids. The main reason I think it is illegal is because it would be almost impossible thing to tax. Alimac agree weed versus alchohol...... The Streets done a great song (if you like that sort of thing ) the one that says about using his university degree to make bongs.

Lab 10,979
Like I have said already many times, I have no beef with the individual sound fella who smokes a bit of weed, it's the wider implications of removing yet another taboo. But then again, I also think so called gangsta rap should be banned lol lol......... FFS is there nothing you wouldn't ban mate............... I'm guessing if a gay black rapper asked you if you'd like a line of coke you just explode...

Kay 3,709
Each to there own , its not something i have ever been into & never would , i do think drink has a lot more in the way of '' casualties'' & effects not just the drinker but the people closest to, its what basically finished my marriage , a husband who if deprived of drink was '' off his head'' But I am glad to say that nearly 2 years later , he seems to have gone someway to clean up his act good to hear kay , my mate whilst led in bed drunk was awoken by an angry misses and as he was getting up he nutted her , now theres no time for women beaters for me , he was punished by the court and you could say he had a problem , he has never touched a drop since , thats four years ago . really frightened him i think. hes a changed man and still regrets what he done to this day, she gets everything she wants off him now and they have just had a kid. so aswell as yours there are happy endings but its hard to live with someone on the booze no doubt. right time to walk the hounds lol I didn't endure any physical voilence while married to him, but i did have to deal with psychological bullying for a good ten years or so , to be honest i could have dealt with a good kicking better i think . To be honest I had to be stronger than he was mentally for my son who would have bourne the brunt of his bullying ways to get to me or take it out on my dog , the end was inevitable when he realized he wasn't going to break my spirit , i would never allow that
