PlasticJock 539
Lol@ lab you beat me to it. Cookie you don't half talk some nonsense. Seriously if you don't have a clue about a particular subject, then I suggest you stay off it. It's making you look like an idiot! Tell you what, look up the average users of cannabis in the uk, I'll tell you now it's pretty high. 99% certainly don't move on to hard drugs. In fact most of the people I know who participate in cannabis, don't even drink alcohol. During my short life I've known smokers and 99% is a very strange figure..... Also agree that most, or at least a good percentage, don't drink anywhere near as much as the rest of their peers. Cookie, how many respectable chaps go for a beer at the weekend and bang coke, speed, MDMA, M Kat and everything else up their nose? Now how many stoners go up town on a weekend and do the same? It's my opinion that people smoke weed to chill out, so apart from opiates and tranquillisers there wouldn't be much sense in moving up the chain.

Christopher Toohey 13
No way on gods green earth should any weed or other drugs be legalised, yes everyone has seen the usual zombie junkie in the street going for his/her fix or just had it..but where did he/she start???................. i know,!!! they start by trying a smoke at some weed,(and i know NOT ALL weed smokers progress to other drugs) then SOME progress to maybe some pills then eventually when they want an even better hit they try the ultimate heroin, BUT to feed this expensive habit they have now they will steal, they will lie, usually to their long suffering parents or family members, they will do everything in their power to get the money regardless of who they hurt or rob. there are a lot of older parents of drug addicts out there that take the abuse flung at them for their money or are being bled dry by a drug addict son or daughter only because they dont understand they are making the situation worse by letting them have a good home to come to whenever they feel like, some parents always believe their son or daughter are going to get better, (and some do) . BUT most addicts be it drugs or alcohol cause terrible grief to their families.you also get the diseases that go hand in hand with drug addicts, hepatitis (most have this one to some degree a/b/c, hiv , and lots more.............then some may go on a methadone programe, get it free and still take their drugs, still causing grief !!!!!!!!!!! The thread above saying kids need to be educated more regards drugs and sex education couldn't be more wrong..........they know a lot more than me or you. i do not want drugs legalised in any way as i am totally against them and dont want my grandchildren growing up in an even worse environment thinking it's ok to take drugs of any description...........i have seen first hand what they do be it weed or worse and it disgusts me to the core, totally ruins so many lives when their is an addict in a family!! Actually they probably started by drinking alcohol. If you think LESS education is the key, you really need yur head read, the kids THINK they know a lot, but in reality, its a mixture of mis-information, rumour and total crap. What i REALLY cant grasp is the fact that folk dont get that drugs are currently illegal - and they are FECKING EVERYWHERE. I could go anywhere in this country and fill my car boot full! IT JUST DOESNT WORK. So maybe time for a new approach??? So what you are saying is that we surrender but call it a victory? I wouldnt call it surrender. I would just change the form of attack. End aim - to reduce the harm that drugs do in society. That will always be the goal, but at the moment, each year, we up the amount we throw at the war on drugs and each year, the amount of folk taking them increases. If you look at countrys where they legalised it, it takes a lot of the mystecism out, as well as making it FAR more regulated, and ultimatly the number of every day young kids getting mixed up in the greatly reduces. Seriously. also for kids likes of weed being illegal forms more of a buzz about smoking it, kids always want to do wat dey sholdnt be doing ,makes it more exciting
