Phantom 631
Is that the 'shit-the insides out' method? After almost two days of almost decent performance by my ISP, it's gone back to usual so vids on line are out for me again Tony Quote Link to post
vermin catcher 219
I use this method and it's so much quicker and easier while out in the field and It doesnt make your hands stink, the only downsides to it are the normally have to remove the stomach after when you get home and with fully grown bucks the may have to slice where the bulge is on the back legs Lewis Glad you answered that one mate as i was thinking there was no way the stomach would detached with that method. In my opinion if you still have to actually open up the rabbit at a later stage to remove the stomach why bother . :hmm:Just gut it normally instead of looking like a mad mountain hill billy squeezing the shit out of things only to go home and have to gut the thing anyway Quote Link to post
porkycrook 466
Tony move down south mate, we have good fast internet connections. We also have road lights (to show the route, not the sort you carry either), gas that is piped into our homes aswell as electricity. We also have a box on the wall that shows moving pictures. So come on down Tony. 1 Quote Link to post
Dancing Dog 10
I've tried this method of gutting, takes a bit of practice to do it quickly but works well Quote Link to post

So come on down Tony. We got all that up here Roger, but all the Telecoms infrastructure is owned and operated by KC and it used to be the very best in the country (half owned by Hull Ciyt Council). Council sold it's share and then the company went public, so instead of paying 5pence per call no matter how long the call was and only paying 60£ a year line and phone rental, the company is only interested in profit now and charge way more than the other companies. Because they own the infrastructure, other companies like BT, Sky, Virgin etc... wont offer their services out here because KC charges them more to use their systems and networks than they charge their customers, making it totally unviable for other companies (apart from mobile, that I use) to compete Tony Quote Link to post
Westy76 546
Still have to empty the chest cavity and tbh it takes 5 secs per bunny using the chalkwarren method on his vids and don't touch anything with your hands Quote Link to post

Another thing is it reduces the amount of rubbish and mud that can get into the clean flesh while out in the field Lewis Quote Link to post

andyz 30
I tried this method as it looked pretty easy....... what can I say!??!!? Friggin hard work is all I can say! Well I personally couldn't do it mind you it was an old buck, actually even the guys I was out hunting with couldn't either (you know who you are...) I think I'll be sticking to the knife and flick method! ATB, Andy Quote Link to post

Tiny 7 1,694
Used both methods... I prefere the knife TBH And likes been said it takes a bit of practics too get it right, And in the mean time you lend up with rabbit with smashed ribs broken spines ect just a unsightly carcess in the end, Much easyer with a knife and if you had 10/15 rabbits too do its quicker also with the knife Quote Link to post
hotshot2me 31
Saw an old guy do this on youtube, he called himself the Warrener, he was so quick it was unbelievable, he said doing it that way stops the blow fly getting at it when you take a lot of Rabbits when they are standing around. he took it at the neck and swung it back and forth to shake the guts down then squeezed the guts out: Dave Quote Link to post
The Ghost Maker 20
I am glad to see this has created a good amount of discussion and it seems to be that most prefer the traditional knife method. I have to say I found it relatively easy to do and as most of the rabbits I shoot go to bird of pray or for fox food I am not too worried about the meats quality. If on the other hand they were going to be for the pot I would most likely gut and skin them in the field in one of the more traditional methods. It seems a good point about them being lighter when carried about though. I bet if you were carrying 10-20 rabbits about with no guts you would appreciate the lack of guts in them! ATB Malc PS loved the "mad mountain hill billy squeezing the shit out of things" coment by the way spot on! Quote Link to post
