Im in the pub as I type this, local junkie was selling what he thought was a harris hawk out of the back of his vehicle It turned out to be a fledgeling kestrel, couldnt leave him with it so I bought it off him for a tenner, can anyone put me in touch with a suitable wildlife rescue or can anyone help with a couple days worth of chicks/mice until I can get it to a rescue

R U near Ashford Castle??- they have a Falconry centre there, it should be in the phone book. You did the right thing by rescueing the bird from that clown, but I would still report him to the NPWS as it sounds like a serious wildlife crime was commited for that bird to come into his possesion.
