stubby 175
I went on one of there ferreting days, where they show you ferreting with hawks, lurchers and nets, was a really good day attended by both newbies and old hands, and as the joining fee was only around a tenner joined via internet as soon as I got home but.... have to admit, when I joined they had a forum on their internet site simular to this one and as most of you will agree this forum gets looked at daily by ourselves, which is what I did on theirs too, a few months down the line, because a couple of guys where having a slightly heated disscussion the guy that runs the NFR wiped the forum completely and closed it down, that was his explanation to me when I phoned anyway, since then I think I have signed in once in 4 months, the site is good for information, but you have access to all of that without joining Quote Link to post
richie 1
hi stubby.... im a member of the NFR. but to be perfectly honest with you it aint worth a toss. dont get me wrong, when the forum was open it was a good site to visit because you could have a bit of banter with a few of the other members. the reason why the forum got closed was because a few of the members openly asked other members in the forum if it was a good idea to organize further events and questioned where all the money was going that we donated and paid for our membership and that we should spend some of it teaching new ferreters to make nets ect and so on .. within a couple of hours of this been posted the site owner " richard halsall " replied by saying that we were not supporting the NFR by not turning up to the open ferreters days.. "never mind the money that we paid in membership " and that anything the members wanted to organize would not be allowed to use the NFR name even though it would be on the ferreters day. all that site is about is MONEY MONEY MONEY.... richie Quote Link to post
