I was listening to a discussion in the pub about ye old fox dogs and which one was best and why JRt were not suitable.

During this I heard that JRT were not suitable as they were not stockey enough to block the hole and their heads were the wrong shape as the fox could grab hole, and if a JRT was entered then they may get a bit of abuse, and end up with big vet bills.

now I though that JRTs were origianally used for that job.

They proceeded to say that patterdales and borders are more suitable for the jobs, due to their stockier build and their heads?

I dont know much on the subject so listened in interest, and wondered what every one elses thoughts were?

Haven't seen eye to eye with pattstaff before but my fitst thoughts were the same. All terriers are foxs dogs as the retarded government can't see the sense in people doing good honest terrier work on anything else. Yet another new member with no posts baiting the trap trying to get stupid replys.
