How old are you ,about 14? You went on the thread about Sankey's dogs , giving opinions of dogs you have never even seen run. Made a total prat of yourself on there, slaggin off a great bitch, got

every man to his own but i tell you buy it or not i have been around working dogs all my life 5o odd years and i would take your money off you and worked terriers and bushing dogs on all sorts of land

Get a working Cocker bud.

If you want a dog that will be garunteed to work cover when its full grown look no further than a well bred spaniel the strain i have kept and bred fore more than 25 years not one has been shy [bANNED TEXT] it comes to faceing cover just glad i followed my instincs in getting one all them years ago instead of fekin about with variouse terriers and such like.

And to add - A beddy whippet isnt really a bushing dog, its a lurcher that will hunt up. If that makes sense.

Depends on the blood my mates dog would give any bushings dog out there a run for it's money and seen a few others the same. but I agree it not the traditional type for bushing. Wasn't there a bloke on here who bred 3/4 beddie 1/4 whippets from parents who had only been used as bushers?????

That pup of yours should be a handy type,

How's it coming along?????

Thanks for all the replies.

I have thought about a spaniel and also thought about putting a bushing cocker over my bitch to tame the terrier side down a bit but keep the work ethic there, she works all day and stops for nothing. If i could put a whippet over her i would, its something i wanted to do a couple of years back but she is only 10" tts and figured even the smallest whippets would be too big.

I just fancied the idea of the beddy/whippet as a general mooching dog, companion, rabbiter with the capabilities of bushing aswell.

Thanks

i have heard of a full greyhound dog being put over an 18 ince beddy whippet, so i guess a whippet over a terrier would be ok?

beddy x whippet first cross will do the job for you they will get in any cover and flush for the lurcher and can catch there self i work these sort and a 3/4 whippet x beddy loads of fun never know what they will push out but you will have to be on top off it as there so head strong when young but when it settles will be 100% and give you its all when out worked these dogs with the ferrets good markers and catch on the bolt its your choice mate atb troter

If it's a lurcher, it's a lurcher, all be it, a lurcher that 'bushes'. But working cover as a lurcher, and folowing scent and hunting up. . . . . is all very well. But it's not going to come close to a purpose bred bushing dog, with regard to what it can face and how it can work.

However, out of all the lurcher types it's probably the best suited.

If i had a spaniel chasing game and yapping, it would be on a one way ticket to a hole in the ground.
