darkie 143 Posted June 25, 2012 Report Share Posted June 25, 2012 they fish for barbel on the fly in europe regulary,i think its called the chech nymph style as far as i can gather they wade in deep ,fish deep with the rod held high up in the air,but im no expert so its probaly best to disregard every thing i say Quote Link to post
Water Badger 26 Posted June 25, 2012 Author Report Share Posted June 25, 2012 (edited) Thanks for all the comments guys we have been fishing out there for 5 years now most Reservoirs contain barble some standard some comiso (go to 30lb) most larger barble are predatory and feed on the bleak take fly plug deads and lives !! all go like stink all the barble I caught were on dry fly takes are crazy and most do 40yrds of backing on the first run due to the shallow water it is like poor mans bone fishing with you spotting fish miles away a competent angler can easily catch 60 barble a day mental fishing!!!! they can also be caught on sunk lines and fry imitations Edited June 25, 2012 by Water Badger 1 Quote Link to post
