paulk73 151
been using superfields in my rifles for a while now, but i bought a new tin on sat, and was having a plink in the wind the other night. and i thought something wasnt quite right, but i just assumed it was down to the erratic gusting wind. however, i went to the range today with a mate, and zeroed the scope at 30 yrds, to try a few different brands. first i tried accupel, they where acceptable. then jsb jumbo exact, they where poor. then i tried h and n ftt. these where unbelievable. they where spot on. then i tried the superfield. these where by far, the worst of the lot. inch and a half group at 30 yrds  . cant understand this at all. 2 weeks ago, i was pellet on pellet at 30 yds with the supers. lastly i tried superdomes and thse ehere the second best after the ftt. question is. these pellets where bought from a different shop to the one i normally use. and they seemed a couple of quid cheaper than normal. do bad batches of pellets sometimes occur?? and if so do you think the shop was selling them cheap knowing they was a ropey batch.? also had a go with my mates new rapid, that he bought off someone off here. the stock has been dipped in a nice matt black finish. it looks the cats pyjamas. i want one now as a second rifle. lol Quote Link to post
hotshot2me 31
When you find a pellet that suits your gun take note of the batch No as they can vary from batch to batch, go back to the shop and buy as many tins as you can afford straight away. have you checked for clipping of the silencer as it had a knock: Dave Quote Link to post
paulk73 151
nah mate. the ftt where absolutely bob on the money. at 30 yrds i was shooting 5 shot groups not much bigger than the diameter of a pellet. i just think that it must be a dodgy batch of superfields. but if it is, its the first ive had. Mawders 595
That doesn't surprise me Nate, I tried superfields and half the tin grouped well and the other half would fly all over the place. It was very strange! I ended up giving the away in the end I was that disheartened! Quote Link to post
dtw 42
Recently did some pellet tests, 10 types h and n ftt were pellet on pellet in my hw 100 only average with rws superfield. Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
They will be different in every barrel you try, some average, some brilliant and some bad. I use them quite a lot and have been lucky enough not to have bought a bad batch yet. My HW100 S and r10 MK2 like them loads as does Craig's MFR. My Mrs Ultra loves JSB Exacts though at 4.53mm and doesn't shoot Super Fields anywhere near as well as Exacts. Si. Quote Link to post
gurtwurz 792
i know its a bit obvious, but have you given the barrel a clean and checked all the screws(stock and scope)n are nice and tight? cheers, wurz Quote Link to post

paulk73 151
No mate. The rifle was new only a few weeks ago, and was shootin superfield bang on. Then I got this new tin on sat, and they are all over the place. I tried the ftt and they where outstanding. I'm wondering if it's because the rifle has now been leaded or because it's a bad batch????? Quote Link to post
