hallam.d 0
I am completely new to fishing and was talking to a friend the other day and he said my friend (who has done quite a bit of fishing before) and I was welcome to come and fish in his lakes at anytime. Without being rude and seeming ungrateful I said that would be great! He said there were a lot of tench in the lakes and thats mainly it. The main thing is of course a rod. I don't want to buy a very expensive one as I wont get much time to use it but more of a beginners rod I'm looking for, any ideas? Also any tips on bait and things like that would be much appreciated. Thanks Quote Link to post
neilnbeanie 10
As a beginner, i dont think you would go far wrong if you made yourself up a bucket of bait consisting of, hemp, pellet, sweetcorn, boilies, whole and broken and luncheon meat. I would fish a simple running ledger rig and keep casting to the same areas using pva bags or stocking. If your not sure how to use these, no doubt there would be loads of demos on you tube. A light carp rod around 1.5-2lb test curve and there are loads about depends on your budget. Good luck. Neil. 1 Quote Link to post
billybaltic 308
You need a lot of research mate, read some post's that have already been up, read as much as you can and try and get out with someone who can show you the ropes, go in a tackle shop have a hold of a few rod's, when you learn a bit more, you will know what feel's right, it's not to hard to learn the basic's and then you will probably love it, good luck.
