fluff chucking, fly fishing for pike.

They had 3 doubles and a twenty out in one morning :icon_eek: going off the topic a bit I think my kids hate me ,Ive just opened a toblerone the youngest bought me for fathers day its like chewing a plug :laugh::hmm: definetly going to give it a whirl with my 7wt,the next issue is finding a water locally that Ive got room for the backcast :blink:

Try and use a fly that doesn't take on water, it should help with the weight,broad wing type fly's, zonker's, matuka's and streamer type's should work, good luck. :thumbs:

Use better hooks than those. Thin wire will open out in a decent fish. I use saltwater hooks, having gone to the effort of tying a good fly, I want it to last, not go rusty under the tying. Vcut 2600

Been fly fishin pike for a good few years now. Had a 13lb from a float tube a few years back. Pulled me round the lough for about ten minutes! For making traces I use knot melt wire. Never seen it fail yet and I make my dead bait and trolling traces from the same stuff. I use clips like these for the ends of the traces ( not exactly the same ones but not far away)

Never seen that wire before, i will have to have a look at some, i have seen the snap link's for flyfishing, not exactly the same as them but similar, will look at the wire for deadbait trace's, i use drennan 7 strand 28lb, been ok up to now, but alway's willing to have a look at something else.
