Dodgy as FCUK!!!

Recommended Posts

5 weeks ago my mate rang me asking if i would go look at a dog with him in Tamworth, 30 mile from where we live.

The story was - Someone saw the dog on preloved, an old dog bloke from years back who used to work lurchers (now breeds malamutes) had been given the lurcehr by his friends son, the friend had died of cancer, the son couldnt look after it so he took it on.

With 3 malamutes and a litter of 9 pups he decided after 1 week that he couldnt handle another dog so advertised her on preloved as a rabbiting bitch for £80.

Anyway, my mate didnt want her, he wanted something smaller, i got on really well with her and had her...

I have had no reason to doubt the story at all, she is a genuine dog, failrly well behaved, stock broken, works the lamp in a fashion, jumps, does okay daytime, shes no world beater and got alot to learn but certainly a promising dog with no obvious faults.

Anyway, I have just been browsing the web at lurchers like i do most days to kill time at work and found this...

"selling for a friend"... My dog is the profile picture. Same phone number.

Surely hes not buying and selling dogs because £80 is hardly gonna be a big profit, this one is for sale for £120 but still. Its crossed my mind he could be a dog thief but again, £120 every 5 weeks? Hardly worth the hassle and isnt gonna make him rich?

He sold the dog as a "possible rabbiter" he didnt big her up saying she catches 10 a night, he was honest and said he hadnt worked her but the previous owner and lamped her a bit.

Im Baffled...

Worst that can happen? I waste an hour of my life driving 60 mile round trip to listen to more lies about how his other friend has died?

There's a pattern there, don't become his friend.

I've rang him and he says my bitch was a genuine sale.

This one is a dog of his mates who's moved abroad :whistling:

He was going to keep it but he has hurt his back so can't walk it and wants it to go to a working home...

the bloke is a dog peddler  stay well away lads

Im thinking along the same lines mate, but whats confusing me is why sell a decent working bitch for £80? Where did he get a decent working bitch from for less than £80?
