feeding kits

Recommended Posts

Just feed the jill plenty meat and fresh water then from three weeks a bit of rabbit in the nest box and bigger bits of rabbit as the kits grow . but you have to clean out the nest box more as they dont come out to empty themselves

I start to put a little bit of meat in the nest box whilst the jills out at 3 weeks ish , the Jill soon moves it to a corner, but after a couple of days the kits will look for it anyway I also call when feeding the kits . By the time there eyes are open the Jill will put meat in front of them , once eyes open I get them on the water to then by 6 weeks come weening time it's easy ,

Same here i think if its a large litter it takes some of the stress of the jill and i like pumping good grub into them to give them the best start possible ,and as you say i take the jill away at six weeks as there eating etc by themselves run them on by themselves for another two weeks and there ready to rehome

When mine have been kits ive always left a bowl of biscuits down and fed them just enough meat about 3 times a day especially in summer.

You can give ferrets milk, lactose free milk, normall milk will go streight through em. Never had a problem with the lactofree stuff with mine

i dont think they need it but they do love it.
