Get rid of the silverline one it will let you down the wood is really low quality and becomes very weak after a short time, it will snap off when you are in the middle of a dig, Screwfix and some other places like travis perkins do a fiberglass handled version and its rock solid

ive been using bulldog shovels for years now and ive never had a proplem with them and now everyones useing round mouths soo i went and got myself one of them sliverline ones from tool station it dose the job quite nicely i was just wondering some of your views on a good shovel ?????

THE BEST SHOVEL I GOT IS THE ONE I NEVER USE, UNLESS IM LEANING :D

I use the same one, blue with steel shaft, i welded a piece of pipe across the top to save my boots [and feet] it also helps if you put a edge on the blade with a grinder to help it through roots, iam only digging rats n rabbits so iam not hitting alot of stone but upto now its been a good buy, buster.

I have silverlines all heavy weight welded steel, no wood, 1 is a big round mouth,other is a sharper tapered spade and last is a trenching spade and they only cost around £22 each, and they are as good a shovel/spade as ive used.

your trying to push that p.o.s. shovel on every board. get a King of spades and forget about it.

ww mfg co [ingrid] also makes a great shovel which i have 2 of scooter3006 , did i start this post ? no ! don't worry brother the cream always rises to the top !!!!!!!!!....richlee
