New to this mine of information!

I make no excuses for being a Newbie, I expect a full and rigorous education, I have respect, and above all I will listen...

With that out of the way I seek advice......

I have several rifles but my favourite is a .22 rifle, its a classic being a "Relum Tornado" unmolested (possible) 1970's model, I love it! its accurate to the width of a pellet at 20.

But here is the kicker!

I have been offered by a friend the chance to "Step up" and take care of his Rabbit problem on his small to medium sized farm that is being plagued by the furry critter's. I have no problem taking for the pot as that is the way I was brought up and nothing is better than fresh as opposed to plastic wrapped.

But!!!

I need better than my 7-9.5lb that I currently have (my kids shoot it as well)....I have no interest in seeing a rabbit not away, with 1 shot (as I witnessed last weekend with the chap who "would take them all down mate") After he tagged the rabbit low in the back my friend told him where the gate was and how to get there fast!!!

If I were to purchase a new set up I would need directing as to what to get as my brain is fried from the reviews/ suggestions from the internet or magazines.

I have a budget, I have no problems with weight as I am a big chap and I am not especially bothered with style (ex military, Shoot anything as long as it is fit for purpose and reliable).

I am very open to second hand rifles and because of my budget I think 2nd hand would be better than new...

Spend my £400- £500 budget.

So, here we go, What have you got chaps.

I am in Hertfordshire,

Do I just suck it up and buy new?

Many, Many thanks.

Big Rich.
