Guest annette jackman
Hi All, am designing a new ferret hutch as at the moment just have a standard double hutch. Am thinking of a double platform with a run that i can lock off the hobb and jill, but whats the best wood to use as dont have a shed to build it into, and needs to be secure as its a communal garden and the nosey bat downstairs keeps trying to feed them eggs and sticking her fingers in (which my jill nearly took off). Any ideas as want to keep them active, plus do any of you have bases that are taken out for easier cleaning or fixed? Ideas welcome cheers Quote Link to post

Bunny Boiler 177
The one at home is plywood. I have two levels and I can remove the second level for two reasons. 1, so I can clean it with a hose and brush easily (both the second level and then I can practically get in the cage to clean the bottom level) and 2, so If I want to get the ferrets out, they're always within arms reach. Hope this helps, Bunny. Quote Link to post
Country Joe 1,411
Just recently mentioned this on another post, find the furthest corner they are shitting in. Buy two cheap Cat litter trays, screw one to the floor, i just use one screw through the middle, and the other fits on top, this stops them shifting the tray, four handful's of woodbased cat litter, you just need to empty it once a week, only takes a few mins. 1 Quote Link to post
