Theoben evolution k

Recommended Posts

I had one in 22 for a short while nice looking and well built.

My first gasram and not to impressed

Trigger poor and a fair old crack out of it

Swaped for a as new HW97k 22 and miles better even before the SFS tune

and £100plus cheaper than the EVO

Thinking of getting a springer and like the look of a Theoben evo k 177

Anyone on here use or had one?

Chris

I've had two Chris bud :)

A Sirroco and a Evo which was the forerunner of the Evo and both in .22 cal

I loved them, Nice thump like a Prosport but can leave cocked like a PCP has it's a Gas ram.

Trigger not as good as a HW or Airarms but easily get use to it Try to get the New Long series Mod

as it tames the Crack.

I've seen You shoot so accuracy will be no Problems, Once You get use to the Recoil.

It's Hard to explain the Recoil is faster in a Gas Ram than a Springer so its a very quick thud,

So when You get use to it You'll be fine, Had two 97's as well top guns as well.

32 Years of recoiling rifles and one Year with My first ever PCP the YODA GUN.;)

Cheers daz I'll have a good play about with each gun before I buy, but the evo is only £250 which is tempting,,?

Chris

Flipping Hell that is cheap :icon_eek::yes: i was looking at the Evo k in .20 second hand and that was £410 :whistling:

but always wanted a Prosport in .22 so got that for £450 brand New instead.

That is cheap fairplay. I had a go of a gas ram webley years back and didn't like it. Then my mate bought a Hw90 gr and I didn't like that either, the recoil or the type of recoil I just don't get on with. I don't think there as quiet as people make out either, the slap they make travels pretty far imo , but they do look lovely guns all the same ..atb

Pipa where are you trying before your buying these rifles? Wish all gun shops had a 20 yard range to try them out.

Redbeck shooting supplies Wakefield mate, the guns were 2nd hand but you could ask to try new ones on their 30yrd outside range? Anth, paul and chris at redbeck are top lads and have a great set up, great bargains to be had, I tried the evo 177 and a tx200 mk2 in 22....... And bought the tx200...with a decent set of hawke mil dot scopes on at a dirt cheap price. It was an offer no fool could refuse....if you call in tell them chris reccomended you from HTL forum,

Hi andy,I didn't try a 90,,but I did Pick a new Hw 95 out of the rack, nicely balanced and pretty light compared to other springers, if there would have been one 2nd hand and karbine I probably would have gone for it as I only had a small budget, After shooting both evo 177!and the tx in 22 i favoured the tx, reason being it was in 22 and the trigger seemed to be a lot better than the evo, + it was in better nick and for £205 scoped???? I had to snap it up there and then mate

I had a sirocco at the meet with me that you could've tried chris, but to be honest you've made the right choice already...

I had an evo a couple of years ago, but like the sirocco I thought it was too small and too light, and having shot paul's '90 I'd say thats definitely the better gun for a bloke your size, and I should imagine the tx feels just right for you?

Nearly as nice as a pro sport, and if it wasn't for the anti bear trap ratchet I'd have got one myself, but it winds me up too much lol

cheers, wurz
