Try finding a video of a good working fell, lakeland, white dog, bull dog... etc. etc. Video taping and pictures are the last thing on my list of what to do while hunting.

I've seen equal numbers of good jagds and good patterdales. But they are very different dogs.

Wouldn't give 400 for that

dont see the point when you can get a laky or pat for 200

you may have to keep in mind that a laky is half the dog wish a good jagd is.

bollocks

how would you know unless you`ve worked both -- horses for courses the jagd is seen as a way forward for some lads ---

to say a laky is half the dog a jagd is is pure bull mate,

This thread is redundant, i have purchased the dog and it will be placed for stud in the classifieds, at £749.99 to undercut the other one in there. And pups will soon be for sale at a reasonable rate, but of course slightly higher than usual pups to recover my initial outlay, would £400 for dogs and £450 for bitches seem fair?

For 4 hundred quid, the dog could provide you with a lot of exciting hunting. Or could be doing your brain in and you keep saying to yourself "FFS...what was I thinking!!!" depends on 2 things, the quality of the dog (could have been ruined already) and the quality of the buyer.

Jagds are bred from LAKIES, true, from old school dogs, but I know as well as many on here the same class of lakeland terrier types are still about in the right places.

All of the European hunters that use terriers rather than the teckel, can trace their dogs back to the UK. Some will say theirs are better than UK stuff, but after inquiring further you may find that even as recently as 1 or 2 generations back, were UK exports.

Both good terrier types, both will do what it takes to ground to get the job done, that is the terriers job in my opinion, not tracking. So theres no way you can say any breed or type is better than the other if they stay till dug to, as any terrier should.

Cut the childishness folks its not needed in this day and age we have enough enemies

If that is true, it speaks volumes for the state of the working terrier in Britain.
