I remember a conversation years ago when my grandad was talking about tv licenses when he was young, the tv license man called at his home looking ( my great grandad ) to produce his license. When he

Yup. Where is your signature on a contract that evidences any agreement or obligation to pay anyone anything on any personal, private belongings? Pm if you need further advice.

Never. Taxes apply only to those engaged in commerce and derive profit.

All you do is keep the blinds turned the other way so they can't see your TV, and remember just because you have a tv don't mean you have to buy their silly tv license, even if they see you are watching something from a dvd or on line! when they come to your door tell them to f**k off , they have no rights/power , they will try to trick you in to letting them in as if they have some sort of power, they will use threats do not let them in, let them say they are gonna get the old bill, its just a threat, don't fall for their bull shit, and the number one rule don't drop your self in it

Newsboy did you film that or find it on the tube? Would like to know if the person who filmed it ended up in court or ended up paying!

There are at least two here who can attest to defending their freedom and saying no to conmen.

I just visited my grandparents and my cousin was there with her boyfriend.... He works for one of the biggest banks as a project analyst... Basically he said they're trying to phase out cash - they want everyone to use computers and all transactions to be carried out online. My granny said 30 years ago when debit cards were introduced no one wanted them and they said they'd never catch on. Look at it now. You can't live without a bank account, can't work, can't claim benefits, tax refunds etc.

We're getting screwed slowly from 'licenses' to tax. Fcuk 'em!!!!

Just got a letter from tv licence .

Right across the front of envelope.

" there do many in the uk without a liscence"

YOUR ONE OF THEM!

Then I open letter to be to I need to renew it as it runs out in 14 days. f*****g c**ts!

Fucks sake you Rangers lot pay for nothing  Joking :victory:

I'd be pissed at the wording and their standard of English.

Got a letter like that one time, I think it was from a health insurance company, which implied I was behind in paying for my plan when they really wanted me to renew. Lifted the phone and told them while I had been happy with the cover they could now go fcuk themselves

Totally John, f*****g post man saw that!

I might just very well call then on Monday and tell them that I'm not happy at being made out , that I'm in debt. All my life I've avoided credit cards and loans. Never had one. One food thing my old man taught us, that I'm gratefull for. Don't have the money you can't get it. If you want it that badly , you know what to do save up for it!

Nice life you live then mate crack on :whistling:

Pay a fishing licence for a public waterway????? Really? You'd pay a tax on air if they told you it's the done thing

I pay tax, car insurance, have a licence for driving, a licence to shoot, a licence to do CP, a licence to do the doors, so I do 'pay my way' but a tv licence is taking the piss.

Would you pay a licence to read books? Exactly the same thing.
