matt_hooks 188
A weasel beat a ferret? I doubt it! Your large male weasel is all of about 25cm long, and weighs less than 250 grams. A full grown ferret will be fifty plus centimeters, and will weigh somewhere between 1 kg and 2 kg. I know a weasel can kill a 2kg rabbit, but your ferret is a totally different kettle of fish. Are you sure it's a weasel not an Ermine? How big is it? Nothing there to give scale. Anyway, most likely culprit would be fox, badger or mink. Possibly polecat, or a stoat. My first thought was "the dog dunnit" though.

tegater 789
Your terrier maybe? Lol. No it definatly wasnt the terrier he just picked it up as he was buggering about. You sure mate....still warm blood stained?.....i think you dog may have just stumbled across it and grabbed it.......if not then im lost but the circumstances seem to point to the dog...being a hunting dog Yes Steve, not the dog. We were walking around the edge of a field of fodder barley, that is only 15cm tall, and around the edges it has been eaten lower by hares and rabbits. The dog was just running about, stopped, sniffed it for a second then picked it up. It was about a couple of metres in from the walls. I reckon I will have to right this one off, as Paulus's "killer bunny" theory. :D :D Matt, it definatley isnt an ermine, its 100% weasel. This one was about 150-160mm long. Lab 10,979
I think you'd need to see the puncture wound. Single hole then BOP that got disturbed. 2 holes then could be fight with other weasel, stoat or whatever...
