djs7547 104
Out a friendly walk lastnight with me an the mrs on the local park (theres a main rd leading into the park so dogs WERE on the lead as i was just entering park). Out of no where a huge male x lab went for my 8 month old bitch pup, it really meant buisness, so my other dog (charlie ,21 1/2 tts) done its best to defend her. i let them both go to allow the pup to go free and run off however this bloody dog got hold of charlie,s front leg and tore clean into flesh leaving a nasty wound, (it should heal ok, but thats not the point) in the melee,i was doing my very best to seperate the two, charlie and the attacker, charlie tore his attackers face all the way up to the dogs eye creating a huge injury, once they had been seperated , a snobby women came up screaming "im getting the police look at my poor dog" i had stated (a) mine were on leads ( hers attacked mine first © i was actually with my dogs (d) and yes mines was injured too she then started to scream that i was to pay the vet bill, and that my dogs are to vicious to be associated with other dogs (anyone who knows my dogs would fully agree they get on no problem but giving the circumstances its understandable on how they reacted). After much of a screaming match from this bloody moron, things were about to get a little worse, as my mrs was really beginning to boil over arguing with this woman. I was beggining to think my mrs was gonna "bingo" her so dragged her off telling her we need to go clean our dogs leg. thus leaving the idiot with her injured dog. On our way back from park, we were stopped by another dog walker who clearly seen charlies wound, after telling this person what had happened , she informed us that this dog has attacked a few dogs, and created mayhem wherever its went. I should have called cops at the time but tbh i never really saw the need, a lesson learnt. why do people have dogs when they cant bloody control them, end result my pup is fine, Charlie has a 2 inch wound thats been cleaned up , and appears ok as he lys next to me as im typing this. tbh i do feel sorry for the other dog as i dont like seeing any dog with injury, especially as it could have been prevented had it had a responsible owner. scothunter 12,609
Don't get me started my pet hate! It's happened to mine a few times when he was younger. Funnily enough the last time it also was a labx. I never let mine of the lead until I'm away from the general population. However I do have to walk through the arseholes with thier unruly pot lickers. I just go strate in with the boot and don't give it a second thought.and fire them a look I'll do the f*****g sane to you if you open your mouth. They know they are in the wrong! Cause there mutts do it all the time, but there to f*****g stupid to put them on a lead or they can't cause thier arm is so f*****g sore from near getting pulled from its socket by thier bundle of joy lol! Thankfully mine now has found a bit of balls , and shows aggression at the first sign of trouble, and repels of the aggressor normally.
paulus 26
only ever had it happen once when an alsation came out of nowhere and attacked my 2, grabbing hold of the young dogs shoulder, 1 boot and releasing my dogs it turned tail and fled.

vixen 528
Two days ago i was out with my four lurchers and "funnily enough" a labrador came running towards mine from accross a field and through two fences, not listening to a word the owner was shouting, as it got nearer i put wee fly on the lead as she had an op about a month ago, it ran at them hackles up right to it's tail, i stood in front of mine as they are not aggressive in any way towards other dogs and i shouted at it and hit it with a lead, it wasn't going to stop at me and next thing my young dog Trieg jumped in front of me and grabbed it by the face and shook it, it tried to have a go back but i grabbed my dog and hit it again, by this time the owner ran accross and got it on the lead.................WHY WOULD YOU LET A DOG OFF THE LEAD THAT YOU KNOW WOULD ATTACK ANOTHER????????????????? The Seeker 3,048
My 8 month springer was off the lead but within a few feet of me when a black lab came bounding over, I thought it was just coming for a sniff and to say hello but no snarled and went to grab my dog. Luckily he was quick enough to avoid the lab getting hold but the lab certainley wasn't quick enough to avoid my boot in its face. It soon f**ked off. I went to the owner and told him if he can't keep his dog under control he should get a muzzle on it, Saw the same lab and owner this morning as soon as he saw me he put the lead on. I can't abide useless morons who get a dog and have no control over it. Credit to your Charlie though for standing his ground.

oscarsdad 4
I have had very similar recently with my 6month cocker pup, a collie off the lead came flying over hackles up and tried it on with him. The cocker is the softest dog ever and was straight on his back being submissive but that didn't deter the collie. Luckily the collie did not see my border who was in the hedge right by the spaniel and he didn't take too kindly to a much bigger dog having a pop at his mate which reaulted in the collie running away after meeting my little terrier and his teeth. As per usual, the twat with the collie claimed their dog wasnt aggressive but I left it at that as the only dog bleeding was his haha! He now keeps it on a lead and avoids my two! Col_c88 41
had a staffy latch on to my sisters patterdale pup not so long ago, we were down the local dene and heard "GET YA DOG .. he doesnt like other dogs!!" this (admitly in shape) staffy with the stupid chavy harness with studs on came belting up and just grabbed hold of the pup.. to be fair the meat head (owner of the staffy) give his a good wallop but anyone who knows anything about dogs knows that just makes them go for more!.. my dog had a go.. the pups sister (my dads dog) had a go.. even the misses' westie had a go and the pup had a good couple of bites of its nose...... my dad and in-law grabbed the other dogs.. i went in with the boot.. the staffy got a mouthfull of brasher walking boot.... I have no patience for people like that and now that ive got a daughter ive relised how dangerous something like that can be.. needless to say as it had my boot in its mouth i grabbed the pup chucked him away and slammed me foot on the floor.. dare say i took out a tooth or two cos the staffy fairly belted away after that! worse bit about it is the owner (stupid meat head needing a dog like that to look 'ard") head down and feked off sharpish with not a word!.. the pup ended up with stitches from his chest to just over his shoulder.. a couple days later a mate told me that a staffy went for his mates lurcher at the same place.. same description as the lad.. however me mates bull x gave it chase.. I always think what if that was an old man with his old dog trudging along infront of them like you see..or a young kid.. there would of been no chance.. it took 2 fit men and a boot to sort it out! really is one of my most hated things! ive got nout against staffys.. as you said up top.. what went for yours were labs.. any dog can be aggressive to other dogs
Ratreeper 441
This stuff does happen, but it has never escalated too bad with me. The worst for me was when I was walking my dog (male rotty) off lead and he looked intensely at another dog that was bounding across a field that turned out to be an akita, so I put him on a lead as he clearly saw something dodgy. He was right as always and it attempted to bound straight into him but I started kicking wildly at it, then it started snapping at my leg whilst I was holding my dogs head up by the chin to keep him out of it. But then the bugger lunged at me properly and my dog pinned it down at the throat for a few seconds before I got him off again and it ran off again. But what pissed me off the most is the owner just stood there and watched from the other side of the field, if it was me I would have sprinted after it and be apologising like never before. Too many people shouldn't be responsible for any other living thing. edit to add neither dog or myself was harmed at all but it could easily have gone badly, luckily I never saw any sign of it again. edit again, as now I think about it I am pretty sure the dog was a lab Edited June 11, 2012 by Ratreeper
bracken boy 584
to be honest i dont trust anybodys dogs so when im out that puts me in defence mode, at the end of the day protect your own dogs as the good owners use common sence of which most of the loons aint got any, one of mine kept getting attacked while mine was on the lead so the boot came in and lifted this geezers dog of the ground lol he wasnt happy and to be fair tough shit..

mally 832
I've had a few dogs try attacking mine whilst out walking, luckily My labrador Fern is never on the lead but always at heel. She never ever starts a fight but can she fettle the buggers if they start. I also always have a good stick with me. A bloke was walking a couple of boxers along the canal towpath a couple of weeks ago, i saw him about 400 yds off and put my whippets on the lead and told fern to heel up. The bloke did feck all and when he was 100 yds away the boxers saw us and came sprinting over growling and snarling, i dragged the whippets into the hedge and stood in front of them and was ready for the first bugger with my stick. It wasn't messing about and i gave it the good news straight between its eyes, it didn't like it much and went running back to the bloke, who wasn't even shouting them back. I only had the other bugger left which wanted a go at the whippets, i belted it but it was a litter braver than the first one, well untl my lab gave it a hiding, she seems to go for the neck and she had a good hold on the dog and it was howling like hell. With this the bloke decided to run over with the other dog still off the lead, thankfully the other dog stopped 30 yds away it didn't want another crack on the head. The bloke was shouting and swearing that my dogs were attcking his and went to kick my lab so i belted him with the stick, which calmed him down somewhat. I told him to grab his dog and put it on a bloody lead then i'd tell fern to get off. What he was going to do, until i asked him if his dogs were on the lead, and that mine were under control at all times and if he ever went to kick my dogs again i wouldn't just hit him the once. Makes me sick when folk don't socialise there dogs and only walk them at weekends when the weathers good!! and not keeping them under control, if there not good with other dogs put the buggers on a lead when theres other dogs about. It could have been much worse if it had been a woman walking her dogs there instead of me. Boxers are big dogs and they could have done alot of damage to the whippets if i hadn't had my lab with me, Thankfully i havn't seen the bloke again, if i ever do see him again i'd do exactly the same if i needed to, but this time i may hit the twat a little harder!! All lab x, what are they crossed with a f*****g wolf. Dont get me wrong I hate these unruly dogs. Had it happen to me as well. It was actually 2 boxers but f**k it we'll call them lab x for this thread... Lol I just booted the c**ts, had the work steelies on tae and they felt it. Lucky the owner was a woman that day or my toe would have been connecting with there jaw. I was amazed how she could have a go at me when her dogs ran at mine from about 200 yards and my dogs were at heel. She was well and truly told to f**k right off!!!
