My terrier's first proper ratting day.

Recommended Posts

My young terrier (1/4 norfolk terrier 3/4 Jack russell) is now 7 months old and has had 5 rats, he has started to mark and dig now so i though it was time to go to this farm which was over run with rats. Called my mate to come along as we're are trying to persuade his mum to let him have one, although she's pretty stubborn! What i was thinking of doing was just go for a mooch and see if we bolt anyhting, but we met the farmer and he said the cows had been moved out of the barn and he was gonna clear it out so if we wanted rats nows our chance. The barn was a haven for rats because against the walls he had put long pieces of board up agaisnt the wall to stop the silage from getting to far away from the cows, the silage is in a big gulley so once bolted the rats are almost stuck, this was great for little George!

As we began to pull back the boards rat after rat came pouring out, George grabbed the first one after a few shakes he dropped it an moved onto the other critters who could't get over the gulley,Goerge was going at a steady pace until he got bitten....

One bitten George saw red now going mental on every rat he saw, if one escaped he'd keep digging until he got it, the farmer who isn't that young was enjoying himself enough to come and help! It was a great day seeing George work properly for the first time, we ended up with 21 very dead rats and a very very very happy farmer!

I just need to get the pics off my mate but they are only end of day as we were too busy fist pumping and jumping for joy!

This wont be the last of George's adventures! :toast:
