2nd Time Unlucky...

Recommended Posts

Splat! The bird crap hit the lounge window leaving two dirty tear-drop marks followed by much clucking and co-ing from the roof gable above. "That's what I think of your shooting!" the dove seemed to say. Who can resist such a challenge? I loaded the 'X' with a Gamo ProMagnum pellet and sneaked outside. The bird was still perched on the gable end and I put the cross on its head and began to squeeze the trigger. But I had taken too long lining up the shot and the dove flew off. Bliksem. It circled a tree in my garden about 30 metres away and then landed on a branch. I approached another 5 metres under cover and took a standing shot. It was second time unlucky - for the dove that is. After taking the photo I removed the breast from the bird and put it in the freezer. Another one or two will provide a lekker meal.

Good shooting, Chris

when police came to see me after my neighbour rang cops their main reason was that it was a built up estate with too many cats kids and cars. it was a pcp at the time and hardly made a noise so i wasnt disturbing anybody..much.. and none of the pellets ricoched or left my garden..

but its not worth the hassle. my neighbours are d**kheads! eaisier to just goto the farm and shoot there.. plus it would be too easy theres a crow/woody on every chimney!!!
