I was told that it is illegle to shoot pheasants with a multi shot air rifle, sub 12 or not I can't remeber where I heard this but to my understanding it is single shot air rifles only??

If that is true anyone know why that is?

true story this, i shot one at 90yrds in the chest, front on with a 17hmr. it took off and flew right at me, i thought i had missed it, then fell out of the sky at my feet, when i picked it up there was no insides left in it

 

i done that with a crow although it was only about 50yrds with a .222 took off (my brother stared laughing and i was baffled) and just dropped out of the sky about 20yrds from where it was shot (laughter stopped)
