Millet 4,497
I had a boat myself a couple of year's back..it was a bayliner not a fishing boat with a 90hp mercury stuck on the back and boy could it bomb along and get me/us to our fishing location quick..but times where hard and it cost a fortune on petrol each trip and £900 a year docking fee's in the local marina so it had to sadly go..had some good memorable day's on her..i am now looking into a sea fishing kayak..nowhere near as good as a boat but i may still be able to get out on my seceret spot.. 1 Quote Link to post
reeking rabbits 15
Yeah it can be expensive thats for sure! No way could i afford it myself, lucky my brothers mad about fishing too! so we just split all the costs 50/50. Long as you keep her at cruising speed (19 knots at 3900 RPM) then it's ok on fuel using around 1 liter per nautical mile... if you go flat out (28 knots at 5500 RPM) you can almost watch the fuel dial go down!! There seems to be quite a lot of people going kayak fishing these days.... at least the fuel bill will be £0 and if it gets you on the fish happy days! 1 Quote Link to post
