Ferrets swollen neck

Recommended Posts

I'm having the same problem with my Jill at the minute. No other ferrets are like it. The lumps seem to be on both sides of her neck, just above her shoulders and one is below her chin. They don't seem to be bothering her and I can touch them without her trying to stop me. Look similar too mumps in humans, just a solid lump. Planning on a trip to the vets on Tuesday if its the same just too find out what it is. She is getting on now and don't no if its just an age thing. But think its lyphoma tbh as reading up on the internet it all points to that. She is my best worker as well but so a bit gutted, but hopefully its not

Iv had Jill ferrets with this before iv asked others about it and they said it was most likely something to do with hormones as the Jill's came in and out of season, I just left them be and they went away after a period of time, let nature run its course and they'll be grand

This jill has been spayed mate, forgot to mention that. She is still fine in herself, eating, drinking being active. She was out today as i had a call out, worked well and bolted 3, like i said best one i have, just gutted i got her when she was already spayed as i would have definitely bred from her, she will be around 6 now. Will just see what happens, but the last thing i want is if its something serious, id rather her be pts than carry on and watch her deteriorate to the point were she cant do anything.
