Does an amunition safe have to meet any BS standard

Just wonderd if an amunition safe needs to comply with the same sort of BS reqirements as my gun cabinet?

Somebody once told me they got theres out of screwfix for £30 or something?

the first one i had was a safe bought from b&q for about 20 pound then i bolted it to the cabinet which was passed by the fao, since then ive bought a bigger gun cabinet with one built inside

There's no requirement for it to be BS approved.

 

So long as it is separated from the cabinet the firearms are held in (other than lock top models) and is bolted to a solid wall then you shouldn't have a problem.

 

My first ammo safe was from ScrewFix. Bolted to the wall in a different location and was passed with no issues.

Mine is a b&q digital safe bolted to the wall snd floor next to the cabinet,the feo has been ok with that last two visits

Yep, agree with above two posts. No requirement to meet any standard for Ammo safe.

Yep mine is a digital and about 30 quid. Does the job and the FEO didn't give it a second look. Bolted to the wall.
