MUDD 374
Not sure if a pollamor knot would work with braid, though it may well do. In my experience braid tends to not suit some knots mono would. I do the loop knot when using braid, one loop then three times threw the loop. A hook will straighten quicker than that will snap. bobcullen79 1,495
I prefer braid for lure fishing, you can feel more, I found I was gettin cleaner hook ups, were I was feeling the take sooner. Plus, you can cast lighter lures further, down to the thinner diameter of braid. I use Whiplash pro in 30lb on my spod and marker rods for the same reasons. Whiplash is a floating braid though, making it quicker to retrieve as it doesnt sink and create drag. Quote Link to post

danny2391 1
I use braid for all my fishing and have do for the last few years it totally changed lure fishing for me it makes the experience a lot more in touch with the fish. I suppose its each to their own and there is good and bad braids I have used several different types but I’ve found POWER PRO by far the best ive started using braid but have found that when your casting and retreiving lighter lures it can cause bad line lay which then causes a bad tangle next cast.[ or maybe its my shit casting. lol]I tend to only use braid when bait fishing or when spinning sand eels with a two ounce bomb. i stick to mono for lure fishing lol i dont think its your casting try not loading your spool up as much as you would with mono this wont affect your cast for distance. what braid are you using ? danny2391 1
i use 60lb power pro braid on my jerkbait outfit beta for setting the trebles home I find its dependent on the lure size I use 80lb power pro with my really big lures (BULLDAWGS) but 10/12lb for my light weight perch/pike spinning rod. toby63 1,236
i think power pro probably best on the market.and remember you guys that dont know alway put sum mono on first to stop the braid slipping on the spool of a multiplier and use a double grinner knot . 2 Quote Link to post
billybaltic 308
I've been using power pro, 50lb i think it is, for the last couple of week's and find it great, i can feel every touch on it, i am glad i have got used to it, i just took a couple of tip's of a few people and found it to be good, i alway's dip the spool in the water to wet the braid before i start fishing, i really rate it, and it has got me more into my lure fishing, just need to catch a decent fish on it now, haven't had a double on it yet, early day's still and this rain need's to back off.
