billybaltic 308
I use braid for deadbaiting and find it spot on, not too keen on it for float fishing though, not sure if it's me or not but It seems to make the float move around more than mono. I reckon that it must be very good for ledgering deadbait's, any movement would really show on alarm or indicater, but wouldn't fancy it for float fishing, do you use it for lure fishing, if yes, how do you find it, i am going to stick with the mono myself as i have no problem's with it, no need to change over just because a few decent lure angler's use it, for every braid user there must be double or treble mono user's, so i will see if i feel the same in the winter or next year, will probably feel the same, thank's. miroku moocher 140
for me wether i'm lure fishing , live or deadbaiting . braid all the way. will not go back to mono.. Quote Link to post
trentotter 158
braid all the way. bite detection is better. plus you can use a high breaking strain.i use 60lb breaking strain . as i fish the river and alot of snags. i save alot of lures using 60lb braid. just yank em out of the snags''sometimes straightening the hooks. but hey lures are expensive''lol you have 20 lures ya say. someway behind me then i have over 200 lol. fockin stupid i know as i tend to use the same half a dozen all the time. hi mate,an old sayingis" most lure's are made to catch angler's,not fish" and dont i know it.i anded up with about 400 most coz they looked good.did they catch fish??? NO!!!!!! LOL Quote Link to post
miroku moocher 140
yes i'v heard the sayin mate,,same here lol. i have maybe half a dozen which i use mosta the time''good fish takers, i tend to get most pike off the river with, mepp's lusox[hard to get lure now,but i got a few in reserve lol,] mepps aglia no5's, and last but not least spinner baits [with white rubber skirts on] i took 16 pike one day on the river using these. as for plug's i have an old black and white shakespear spotted dick '' this has taken more than all me rapalas put together. billybaltic 308
That's got to be a true saying, cause they do catch more angler's than fish, and like what was said most of us use the same lure's on a reguler basis. Quote Link to post
bobby blackheart 1,209
use braid for feeder fishing chub/barbel-takes some getting used too-find i miss less bites-i use spiderwire from berkley-only down side is that it twists quite abit on the retrieve.atb Quote Link to post

yorkshireman0_0 1
I Personaly use a mix mono mainline with 10 foot of braid to the plug, I beleve i get best of both worlds as i get the strech of the mono and the streanth and abration resitance of the braid when cutting through weeds and over rouh ground. 1 Quote Link to post
steve66 3,472
Thought the point of the brad was because there was less stretch then you could feel bites , knocks exectra never tried using a braid leader before might give it a go Quote Link to post
suedehead 6
might sound daft but do you tie the braid to the hook/lure using the same type off knots ie half blood etc ? Quote Link to post
