I had professional tuition many years ago but after sending the first lot of balls over the A34 i gave up hope!

Cant see the point in the game.

a, Hit ball towards flag.

b,walk upto ball and hit it closer and so fourth...........

c, hit ball in hole

d,start again...

why not just go for a walk!

I tried to get into golf a while ago,got all kitted out joined a club etc even had a few lessons from a pro...................................my god what a depressing game !!......i love a good natter but if your mates are not into golf and you get stuck playing with some miserable b*****d its a long time to spend with someone you dont like !......90% walking around talking and 10 % active sport....has to be one of the least competetive sports there is,coupled with the fact that i was shit at it....i quickly realised it wasnt for me......bunch of poncey twats playing it as well not my kind of people or my kind of sport, but you gotta try these things i suppose.

Probably one of the most difficult sports to master i reckon......thats why people hate it cause there shit at it. Cant see on a hunting forum where people spend lots of there time just walking about the counrtyside it would bother them the walking part? A very frustrating game, not for everyone, crap if its raining but with a few tins and the right folk its a cracking day out......

Mate of mine was a pro before he got into bad habits, he turned pro at 16. He was doing very allright at one time, shame. Lot of workmates used to be into it, never understood why apart from easier to suck up to the guvners who used to play.

Golf course at night is not a bad place to be though :D mind them bunkers though..

Ive no problem walking about i found that quite pleasant, scenery etc........just id rather of been on my own ( which you look a complete knob playing golf on your own ) or with folk you actually like ( of which i never found any ).......frustrating is right im none too graceful i could smack the ball for miles but when it come to them delicate little shots and putts blimey what a mess id spend half hour walking back and forwards passed the hole :icon_redface:

Just didnt like the atmosphere or the people and general stigma attached to the game.......i was getting looked at like " what are you doing here you big ruffian ".........maybe its not like that all over, but not my cuppa tea.

What a f*****g fanny of a game! My borther plays it, very well at that, so I've been round with him once or twice and it really doesn't appeal. The only good thing about it is the permission he sorts me (He's a course greenkeeper as well).

It's a game of precision and etiquette...... I'm just not cut out for all that.

The one sport i'll never take up nor try... Why... Because i'm sure i'll like it and, seeing my brother the golf nut, with every spare minute either playing or watching, I have too many things and one in particular, that I love to do and fecking golf I fear would ruin it...!!!

I always thought golf was mostly for wee old pensioner men/women. Honest to god i did, until all the news coverage and stuff about Rory McIlroy came out about him winning or something.. and at that only reason i listen to it was he was from here.. I really didnt think young people played golf, until that day :icon_redface:
