lewis collins 4
Hi guys due to my grandfathers trigger finger itching to an unbelievable state, we have gone to a nearby farm and asked for permission ( which is not even a 2 minute drive to and from our houses) due to the farmer complaining about foxes to a friend of hers who walk his dogs he mentioned that my grandfather has been vermin controlling now for most of his life she asked for us to come up. he is an f.a.c holder, using a 22lr, 22 hornet and .223 rem. not at the same time obviously. the farmer also mentioned that there is a small rabbit problem, like a 6 year old at Christmas my eyes lit up, thinking "I can sort that out" so that is the story so far we will be going to the permission tonight for an hour or 2 will upload pics of the land tomorrow for you lot to enjoy thanks alot atb lew Quote Link to post

lewis collins 4
following the visit lastnight the rabbit problem wasnt a problem at all 1 or 2 at the very bottom of a steep 40% hill and 1 or 2on the road leading to the farm. although i didnt have anything it was still an enjoyable night. might just use that as a plinking/zeroing farm due to it being so close and out of the way. i am unable to upload pics due to my phone playing up. thanks for reading this atb lew Quote Link to post
Buster321c 1,010
You never can be sure Lew . They might be out early morning , middle of the night , anytime really . The fact that you saw a few means that they ARE there and thats the main thing . They may be in another part of the fields , it takes time to see the true life style of the rabbit Use your time to your advantage , dont go in to shoot em all , take your time , visit at all different times and you will soon see the patterns . The main thing is , manage what you have , dont leave the place empty hoping that another permission will turn up , but keep the numbers down and ensure theres always a couple about . Be polite , and help out where you can , word will get round fast of a trust worthy lad that heps out . Use it to your advantage mate . But most of all enjoy it . Nice one lad , Buster Quote Link to post
robwelsh 354
A pair of rabbits can populate an area of upto 700 odd in a year they reckon..so if there's 2 or 3 there ,the likely chance there's a lot more..somenights I go out an I only see one or none..then othernights I see about 30 lol luck of the draw mate Quote Link to post
