Moll. 1,770
I recently acquired a new farm for mole work and whilst discussing the next fields to tackle i told the farmer about Rude boys trials and tribulations since his injury, and mentioned that he would probably only now be used for local work, and not the bigger nights elsewhere. The farmer pointed me in the direction of a couple of fields which he said i could use for Rudie, the only fields he really has a problem with rabbits on the farm. So since today is the only day we have not had rain, i decided to do a reccy whilst laying traps. I hardly ever take the camera out now, it is slowly dying a death but nothing ventured nothing gained. And there is also on the farm a huge viaduct a 12th century castle ruin and an 11th century church, i wanted to photograp i decided to make a day of it. I have been very slowly getting Rude boy back to fitness, mooching about this place is ideal and gives him some focus for his prey drive, at least till the season starts. Nothing caught as this was the first time either of us have been in these fields, don't really want to catch at this time of year anyway, just good to have a mooch around sussing the place out. Finding out the best points of entry, where the rabbits will run etc. Some pics from today.... When i finish laying the traps i always go back and count them, and found i had caught one straight away, probably the biggest fattest mole I've caught to date, about the size of a trap! It is great to finally see Rudie nearly back on form, he was going to be pts so many times since his injury, and each time something would happen to make me put it off for longer, so glad i have 13 Quote Link to post
