Good idea Tony..vermin control isnt just about knocking a few rabbits and bird's of with the air rifle and i know your very keen by your profile.  Heres a site well worth a look for learning mole cat

Nothing like taking another mans livlehood

Very nice and unique post that Marty.

I really enjoyed reading that as it was different from the norm.

Your Larson trap as done better than me this year in sorting magpies.

I suppose that you could static hunt over the Larson trap too and as the call bird calls them in wait and knock them off as they land with you HW.

You coming to the meet on Fri pal?

Kind regards

Si.

Cheer's Si...Some bird's wont go in the trap so I wind the van window down and trap a scrip scalf in the door and get them from the van window. Early morning alway's seem to be best..they dont seem as sharp.

Wont be making the meet sorry got a few thing's on.. working round my static home..maybe next year. It would be nice to meet some of you fine chap's.

Hi Davy

No this one was bought off ebay..£70

Iv seen a tutorial on here so in buying a load of roof baton to knock a few up..just order the spring's lastnight off fourteenacer.

Iv had 30 in this trap upto now and it's early day's...Iv been watching the magies crossing over field's on my permission's tonight in troop's so the trap's will be busy for a good while yet.

I move them from one area to another because there terrortorial and other magies dont like strange bird's in the area and i think this help's in keeping up a good catch rate..that's my opinion anyway.

Make sure it has plenty of gravy :D

Plenty of that stuff in the dog food i feed them on...I feed the bird's 3 or 4 times a day and make sure they have water.

Another tip..i keep ginnyfoul eggs in the trap..there as hard as pebbels and they cant crack them open so you save on egg's :whistling:

proper job on them maggies fella.. great stuff..

can you get crows in similar traps?? millions on my permission but getting a shot off is hard work! havent tried the static hide and wait approach yet but im sure larsen would be a lot more effective

Yes you can use larsen trap's but crow's prefer side entry traps..use a dead rabbit in this case Skot and make sure one of it's eyes is patruding from the socket..this will help in getting that first bird.

Remember to keep moving the trap.
